School Group Visits

School Groups Visits / Holiday Programs

Field trips are often one of the highlights of the school year for both students and teachers. There are so many teachable moments during field trips and so much to explore!

Going to the farm is a cool experience for any student and by going to an Alpaca Farm, students can learn and experience a rare animal they may not be familiar with.

Our price is $13 for kids and $16 for teachers/parents. This price includes:

  • The alpaca story – an educational info session dedicated to everything alpaca.
  • A scavenger hunt and activity – made by us, everything will be on our farm!
  • Feeding trail – Over the fence feeding our 40+ alpacas!  (Alpaca food included).
  • Alpaca colouring/activity – with colouring pencils/crayons provided.
  • Plenty of alpaca story/picture books to read.
  • Our undercover alpaca shed for the alpaca story, morning tea + lunch (bring your own).
  • A spot the difference between alpacas and llamas – we have 3 llamas here on our farm which makes this a very exciting and educational activity.
  • A sample piece of pure alpaca fibre to take home and keep - if requested in advance.
  • Alpaca babies of different ages are present on the farm during summer and if the group is lucky, they may even view an alpaca birth!
  • As an add-on activity and for an additional fee of $17 per person, the group can do a Soap Felting Workshop. This workshop, for children aged 7 years and up, allows them to work with the unique alpaca fibre hands on and learn the technique of soap felting. This is not only a fantastic interactive experience, but they also get a lovely, felted soap to keep at the end of it!
  • Scavenger Hunt at $5 per person

Of course, we are more than happy to work with you and adapt to your requirements! For example, we can offer a more educational presentation as opposed to the activities for older children (10+ Years).  As the extended presentation is a more informative slide show by the Tour Guide, we charge $14 per Child and $24 per Adult. This is followed by the Feeding Trail where the children can now feed the alpacas they have just learned about!

We have plenty of farm space for a large group to feed the alpaca herd.

All our health and safety can be viewed on our homepage, and everyone will be given a health and safety briefing before heading out to do the feeding trail.
